This is a GHNHSFT training video produced by Dr Michael Connelly, CN Graham Rowe and our eLearning team to help train our staff in the use of this potentially life saving piece of equipment.

The level 1 Rapid Infuser is kept in resus for use in emergencies. Its primary indication is the prevention and treatment of clinical shock through rapid infusion of warmed blood and crystalloid fluid. Common clinical indications include major haemorrhage, trauma and placental abruption.  In these circumstances quickly replacing lost blood products whilst keeping patients warm is essential.
