• We see a lot of patients who have been poisoned in the ED. Often this is deliberate self poisoning, sometimes it is accidental toxic exposure and rarely you may suspect intentional poisoning by another. All of these different presentations need a high degree of suspicion.

Toxbase is by far the most useful resource for poisoned patients. Departmental passwords are available
